San Francisco Street: 2015 - 2016

Street photographers have many subjects available to them, but the most compelling, and most difficult to capture, are people. Around 2013, I began exploring ways to photograph these challenging subjects more effectively. I ultimately settled on a small camera with a fixed 35mm equivalent lens which allowed me to work inconspicuously at close distances. 2015 provided me an opportunity to get serious when I was offered a year of paid leave. With all of that time available, I spent hours roaming the streets of San Francisco and surrounding areas for a thorough exploration of this new genre. I’ve chosen samples from that year-long effort for this gallery.
